Omer Pasa Latas
Omer-pasa Latas stoped in blood the rebellion of Bosnian nobility in the south Bosnia in December of 1850. After stoping the rebellion, Latas camped on the surrounding hills and remained there for few days. That was how the name "serpent" was created. The "serpent" that shadowed Tuzla was sung in a traditional Bosnian song which is still very popular. The "serpant" is a methaphore for Latas's big army.
