Tuzla can be called "Economical town" with a reason. It has large complexes of all kind of industry. First of all it has biggest power plant in Bosnia. It had also a salt mine, which is shut down in 2003. Tuzla also has airport in it's surroundings, which is mostly used by american army.

Power Plant
Power plant in tuzla has
power of 800 MW, and it's the biggest in whole Bosnia. It uses coal as fuel
for generating electric power. It's significant part of Tuzla's economical
industry. Power plant in Tuzla distributes electrical energy throuh whole
bosnia, because it poduces extra energy that is capable of powering big part o
country. Powerplants imports coal from coal mine "Djurdjevik".

Mines
Tuzla's most part of economy is salt mine, which is shut down now, so rest of economy relies on other branches, such as argiculture, cemichal industry, coal industry, and some minor branches. Salt mine was shut down and flodded with water in year 2003. Reason for that act was a dange that a whole town was in risk of supsiding.

Works
"Solana" is salt factory in Tuzla. The name "Tuzla" is from turkish origin, Tuz-salt, so it's much like tuzla could be called "Salt town". Mining salt in Tuzla is big part of towns tradition itself. Town Tuzla was founded because of salt wells, and it's a Tuzlas most known symbol. The other symbol is goat, which is popular in legends of Tuzla.
